BAD YOGA stands for "Balanced, Active, Dynamic Yoga"
embodying our commitment to helping individuals achieve physical, mental, and emotional balance through a HEATED and dynamic yoga practice.
BREATHE. SWEAT. FLOW.
BadYoga is a badass and innovative yoga studio in Mexico City that combines challenging vinyasa-style classes with music in a humid and heated space using infrared technology. We break the boundaries of traditional yoga by infusing it with music, playfulness, and an unapologetic branding voice. This is a heated yoga studio for non-yogis. Our socially present and Instagram-focused approach, along with curated playlists and themed classes, sets us apart in the market.
NON-YOGIS = OUR PEOPLE
Currently most yoga studios infuse a high level of spirituality and self reflection. However, there are many people looking for the physical aspects of yoga and the workout without the spiritual ethos that comes with it. And we provide just that, combined with an edgy, trend setting, and social atmosphere that makes the practice of yoga for “non-yogis” cool and exciting, while still promoting social connections and a fun community.
THE STUDIO
The BadYoga studio build-out is a carefully curated space designed to provide a unique and immersive yoga experience. From the moment you step inside, you are greeted by a dark and candle-lit atmosphere, setting the tone for a serene and calming practice environment. The studio layout is thoughtfully arranged to accommodate a spacious practice area, allowing ample room for movement, flow, and self-expression.
One of the standout features of the studio is the innovative infrared hybrid heating system, which provides a comfortable and clean heat throughout the space. This technology creates a cozy and inviting atmosphere, helping students to quickly loosen up and engage in their practice. The temperature is precisely maintained at around 94 degrees Fahrenheit, striking the perfect balance between warmth and comfort.
We use the Infrared Heat system , providing heat and humidity. It is the closest thing to the natural effect of the sun without the harmful UV rays. This effect allows the body to absorb the following benefits:
Increased blood circulation
Improves the immune system
Reduces joint pain and inflammation
Detoxifies the body
Reducing acne and clearing clogged pores
To enhance convenience for our students, rental mats and towels are pre-placed, eliminating the need to bring their own or go through the hassle of renting. The showers and lockers are designed to be simple, efficient, and exceptionally clean, providing a seamless experience before and after class.
The studio build-out also includes various Instagrammable areas, strategically placed to encourage social media sharing. Bold branding elements, including decals that read "Yoga Babes" and "Sexy Yoga," serve as reminders of the unique and empowering BadYoga experience. The studio's visually appealing design, from the sleek layout to the curated decor, reflects our vibrant and captivating brand identity, providing numerous opportunities for students to capture and share their moments of inspiration.
CLASS STRUCTURE
At BadYoga, there are two types of classes. The standard class structure begins with a fun and engaging warm-up session. This initial phase prepares students physically and mentally for the practice ahead, loosening up the body and cultivating a focused mindset. Following the warm-up, the instructor sets up sequences and then allows the music to take over, empowering students to flow on their own. This unique approach of instructor-led warm-up followed by student-led flow is repeated throughout the class, fostering individual movement based on breath or musical beats. This dynamic class structure provides a balance of guidance and freedom, allowing students to explore their practice and discover their own rhythm in a challenging and enjoyable yoga experience. The second class type is a beginner class where the instructor guides the class without any open flow.
BRAND VOICE
The brand voice of BadYoga is unapologetic, authentic, and badass. We embrace a free-flowing, beat-bumping attitude that encourages individuals to let loose, drop the sweat, and find their own unique movement. Our mantra is "practice over perfection," promoting the idea of making yoga a habit rather than a goal. We believe in finding light in darkness and letting momentum propel you forward. With an emphasis on individuality, immersion, and a touch of irreverence, we create an empowering and invigorating atmosphere that leaves our students feeling inspired and better than when they walked in.

OUR FORECAST
Heated fitness studios are on the rise in the US. From the influx of Bikram Yoga Studios in the early 2000’s to the hip yoga studios that are catering to a younger audience such as Y7 Yoga, YogaSix, and Corepower Yoga, there is a market that is continually growing. Additionally, there is a rise of wellness experiences such as Remedy Place (recently raised $5m), Ancient Ritual, and SweatHouz that are new-age bath house with saunas and infrared rooms. We believe combining hot room therapy with a fitness element, specifically but not exclusively, yoga, is the trend people will take to.
OUR GAMEPLAN
Building a new brand is much easier in 2023 then ever before with the help of supplemental markets such as Fitpass and Gympass. Not only do they bring a consistent flow of clientele to the studio they also help introduce the brand to the general market.
BadYoga will jump into the yoga market through an aggressive marketing campaign that showcases this is a heated yoga studio for non-yogis. With a badass brand voice, we plan on making waves in the market by bringing a controversial voice to a yoga studio. This includes a heavy first 2-months of instagram marketing at $750 per month spend.
And also establishing an emphasis on community events and collaborations with other studios such as a Commando. This means consistent pop-ups, pr events, and corporate wellness events.
THE OPPORTUNITY
Our research indicates that there is overwhelming demand for a space where everyone can engage in a physical and mental wellness recovery practices no matter their experience level. The entry to “yoga” was always a spiritual one, we intend on opening it to a whole new segment… the “non-yogis”.
